This morning, our SA Recycling Calera facility welcomed the local Calera Fire Department for a training session. A few firefighters practiced cutting open cars to prepare for emergencies. We provided them with a couple of cars for their training, which is something they request once or twice a year. We’re always happy to assist.

Our team members found the session very interesting and informative, gaining insights into how such situations are handled in the field. We look forward to hosting them again soon for another training session. GREAT JOB TEAM!!

What an incredible morning! Yesterday, our amazing team at the SA Recycling Los Angeles-South Alameda facility handed out over 100 turkeys to our valued customers in celebration of Customer Appreciation and Thanksgiving Day! 🦃

The excitement was so heartfelt as more than 35 customers eagerly lined up at 6 AM to receive their turkeys. Fantastic job, team! 👏👏👏

When the Elyria Fire Department acquired new extri

When the Elyria Fire Department acquired new extrication equipment from MES Fire, they knew exactly which local scrap metal recycling center to rely on for hands-on training with their new lifesaving tools. Over three days, all shifts from the Elyria Fire Department had the opportunity to shear, saw, rip, and move seven cars and two school buses provided by SA Recycling Elyria for their training. Scott from MES Fire showcased the enhanced lifesaving capabilities of the battery-powered tools, which are more mobile than the older tethered models they replaced. It was an educational experience for everyone involved. GREAT JOB TEAM!!

Proyecto Juan Diego is an outstanding organization

Proyecto Juan Diego is an outstanding organization dedicated to supporting the Brownsville, Texas community, particularly those less fortunate, through its facility and various programs. Many of our employees at SA Recycling in Brownsville, have benefited from PJD’s services, including immigration assistance, English and citizenship classes, and more. Recognizing the significant impact PJD has had on our team members is a key reason our Brownsville facility wholeheartedly supports them.

Alberto G. Garcia has been a board member for about three years and was recently elected chairman earlier this year. He is pictured with Sister Phylis, the founder, and another photo features some of our staff, including Mark Hodgson, at a PJD event honoring a local pediatrician and philanthropist. On Saturday, October 5, our SA Recycling Marietta

On Saturday, October 5, our SA Recycling Marietta facility in Georgia, took part in Cobb County Safety Village’s 12th annual Truck-A-Palooza. This event provided the community, especially children, with an opportunity to learn about SA Recycling and explore the inside of our trucks. The team brought four bales of material to the site and held a contest where participants guessed the weights. The closest guesses won gift cards to Bowlero, Main Event, or Chuck E. Cheese, with the overall closest guess winning a Nintendo Switch Lite.

Children received plastic “hard hats” filled with candy, a magnet, and sunglasses. The community also had the chance to see and handle copper chops, aluminum turnings, an aluminum puck, and household wire. FANTASTIC JOB TEAM!!

Over the course of the three-day conference, our teams from Thousand Palms and El Centro engaged with numerous law enforcement agencies and their affiliates from across Southern California. Yesterday the team at SA Recycling Elyria, OH assi

Yesterday the team at SA Recycling Elyria, OH assisted the EFD (Elyria Fire Dept.) in setting up an extrication training exercise. The well attended, simulated scenario involved “Rescue Randy” -an unassuming dummy with an appetite for risk- being placed behind the wheel of an SUV, which was then crushed by the grapple of our material handler and flipped over!

The scene was set, Captain Joe from the EFD called in the accident. One by one, fire trucks and emergency vehicles arrived onsite, just like they would in a real-life emergency! The first responders were quick to stabilize the SUV and assess the situation as other emergency personal arrived in the yard. Fortunately for Rescue Randy, the EFD is well equipped to handle emergencies like this and thanks to SA Recycling Elyria, OH- they are now better trained. The whole team enjoyed the experience and are looking forward to the next opportunity to assist our hometown heroes.
